Once upon a time, not so very long ago........

Little Leon was born with a poorly heart. This made his Mummy and Daddy sad and they decided to search for a special friend who would keep Little Leon company and look after him while he was in hospital.............

The Adventure begins..............

Fun Days and a chance to see history.....

Ah, hello, Yes, Royal Air Force:- Duck Squadron, Wing Commander Huey here..

Sorry about the picture you caught us on a mess break there, just refuelling after a busy day with our new recruit Little Leon.

He's been very busy helping us at the airshow at Southport, it was a very special day as we were saying goodbye to one of our longest servants, the Vulcan. ( No, not the ones of Star Trek, the plane type, no pointy ears here!) . There were huge crowds, we were glad we sortied the area and came up the day before, We Joined the masses and found a great spot to review the days proceedings atop a grassy knoll (Dallas?.. err no).

So we broke out some supplies and relaxed in the Sun.
we had some busy bees come to visit, they were keen to see the show as well.

There were lots of things to see and do, but there was only ever going to be one start of the show today, and as this would be the last time ever that the Vulcan would fly in formation with her "Praetorian guard" the fabulous Red Arrows it was extra special. So at around 14.00hrs they could be seen on the horizon approaching

Getting closer.....

Closer....

 Firing up the Smoke

 Then she was here..
 Majestic...

One pass in formation

And they were gone, A fantastic salute to the last of the V Bombers. Now although the flypast with the Red Arrows was done the old Warbird (No, not mummy) came round to give us a fantastic display.

She really is a majestic old bird (no, not mummy, stop saying that, you'll get me in trouble, although that old bird does have a fine chassis as well). If you are too young to know the history of the Vulcan and what it has done for our country, go look it up or ask your grandparents, they'll know.

After all the excitement it was time for Forty Winks, Just thought I'd do a bit of bombing (Photobombing that is!)

Little Leon has had a fabulous time, seen a bit of history and is now worn out, but we found time to have a Celebratory Tequila or two..

So We'll sign off with a fitting note, the motoo of the Vucans former employer the RAF.. Per ardua ad astra, which could just as equally apply to Little Leon.

More adventures soon.....

New Adventures!

Well a new chapter has started, a day we thought and feared at times that may never happen has arrived, my Little Leon, superhero, heart hero and all round superstar has started school.

He got all dressed up smart like daddy, new shoes, shirt, trousers and tie, and made his entrance.......

He wasn't phased by it, safe to say he was ready to go (I wasn't).

So, off we went in the car, he went in without any persuading, hung his bag up on his own peg, and went into his new classroom. He had a little wobble and wasn't really sure, but his new teacher found him a robot to play with and off he went....

we left....

my boy was in school....

I was fine...

No really....

I was....

No I wasn't.... I was a wreck... my little man was in big school..

I suppose it was the hopes and fears of every parent that I was feeling just magnified because of what we have been through.
I still had a days work to do...!!
According to my colleague I was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, my mind was elsewhere.

So we went to pick him up, Leon had had much fun, he was full of beans and, when asked, said he would like to go back tomorrow,

We are now at the end of his second week and he is liking it, he is getting good reports back from the teacher, he is learning fast and making good progress. It is taking its toll on him though, he is tired and on several occasions has fallen asleep as soon as he has got home. That is the reality we have to deal with with his condition, as long as he doesn't push it too hard we can manage it (i hope),

So, were off for a little break to see the seaside and some planes.

Catch up when we get back... and i'll leave you with this thought..

Each day is an opportunity to travel back into tomorrow's past and change it.

As one Journey Ends another one starts......

Today Little Leon had his last day at Nursery. It;s been 4 years and he has been looked after in the best ways possible, both physically and emotionally.

The decision to send Leon to nursery was not an easy one, aside from the usual worries that any parent has, we had the added worry of his condition. But the decision was made and as they say, the rest is history.

We have watched him grow from a little baby to a wonderful little boy, full of character and cheekiness, "Loud" Leon they call him, can't think why :-) (the only time his mum is happy she's half deaf!!)

So now the next journey begins, and, to me, one just as terrifying.
Little Leon will be starting school, I;m sure he will be fine, we have picked what we think will be the best school for him, class sizes are small and they concentrate on developing the person as a whole not just academically. So it's a week or so playing and doing "stuff" before the start of term, so you'd better keep watching for the news of some adventures over the next few months.

So in the meantime is TTFN and Shee yoo Shoon! and remember...

Tuesday 4 August 2015

Yikes, where did the time go!

ok, ok, I know, it's been ages, but you know sometimes life, and the opportunity to just be normal, gets in the way.

All is well at the moment in Little Leon Ville, Leon had a check up a few months ago and all is within the expected parameters, and will be checked again before the end of the year.

We have been busy doing stuff....  We went to scotland for a few days,

We saw the majestic Kelpies, a must visit if in the area and then went for a ride on the Falkirk wheel, A wonderous piece of engineering and a good 1/2 day or so out.

We went to the Disability rocks festival, had great fun, a picnic and danced and played to the music.

It was all to tiring, so Little Leon and mummy had a rest..

We had a trip to see Faraway Grandma & Grandad, that was great fun as always

During one of the heavy storms that often hit that part of the world, Little Leon decided to dance in the rain, It was very wet, but, fortunately very warm as well, and, well, who doesn't want to dance in the rain if they get chance.

So as you can see it;s been jam packed full of doing, well, normal stuff, and to us, normal is just fine and dandy.

We have a trip to the Airshow planned and a few other little things planned, so watch this space folks...

Oh, what's the poster at the top? Well, that's one of the ways that Leon got his name.. not everyone is named after an assassin!

So, its a big hug from Leon,

and he says, Sheee yooo shoooon!
