Auntie Nic, Jess and Sarah all read a poem or letter for Little Leon, Mummy read the poem that she wrote a couple of weeks ago, they all got a huge round of applause!

Auntie Sarah flicking through her book!

Auntie Sarh brought Leon a georgeous egg cup for his eggs and dippy soldiers, Mummy bought him a special wooden box for memories, so Little Leon can add to it as he is growing up.  Mummy had people write a wish on a card so he can keep them and look at them later.

Auntie Jess wrote a letter for me, just me!
So all the family were there, they came from all over, some from further up North, Auntie Jess from down south, Uncle Manir from Bangladesh! Little Leon is so pleased that Uncle Manir is his supporting parent!  Big Cuz Debbie and her chap arrived, she brought a fabulous driving toy, and a book that makes noises, Mummy said you cant drive and read at the same time, but little Leon is going to have a go! brum lets go to the zoooo!

Little Leon gets some new wheels!

On Sunday uncle Tony rang with a message for Little Leon. He had been sorting out his garage and found a special bike he thought Little Leon would like.

So, Mummy took the Volvo chariot to collect it, leon couldn't wait to have a go on it, but he had to wait until Mummy gave it a polish and checked the wheels.

So, after lunch Little Leon hopped onto his bike, ting tinging the bell and woo! Off he set to go see Gramma, with Mummy pushing of course! Gramma thought he looked very grown up and said she will miss him when she goes home to far far away for her holidays.

Little Leon says Holidays are coming....

Today Little Leon took Mummy and Daddy into Leeds to meet tree hugging auntie Sarah.... Well that's what Daddy calls her!

They had a lovely lunch at Cafe Rouge, except the bit where Little Leon surprised Daddy by being a bit sick on his new trousers....

Feeling much better, Little Leon, riding high in his back pack baby carrier took the gang to the Christmas Market for chocolate covered fruit and then down the road to see the Coca Cola truck!!!

Woo it was huge and was giving out free cola!! Little Leon, Mummy and Daddy had their picture taken in front of the truck!!!

Then it was back home for some milky and a big sleepy for Little Leon who was worn out!!!!!!

Little Leon brushes his toothy pegs!

Mummy has bought Little Leon a special toothy brush. It has a soft grip handle so he can hold it tight. In fact he doesn't like to let it go and often he carries it around for most of the day!

It's very important that little heart babies look after their new toothy pegs because there is a slightly higher risk of Endocarditis. This is where nasty bacteria affects the lining and valves of repaired hearts. Making them swell and not function properly, which can lead to other complications such as stroke, heart failure or death. Woo! That's bad!

So Little Leon goes to the dentist with Mummy and tries to bite his finger! But he is too fast for Little Leon!!! The Dentist gives Leon a sticker to say he's been a good boy.... Even if he did try to bite his finger!!!!

Mummy and Leon sing, 'this is the way we brush our teeth, brush our teeth, brush our teeth....' while they brush, little Leon laughs and laughs, then spends time licking the toothpaste off the brush!!!

When he is older , Mummy has an egg timer to get the right brushing time in! Little Leon says don't laugh, it could save his life one day!!!

So that's why it's important for heart babies to look after their new toothy pegs.

Little Leon finds a story..

Little Leon and Mummy like this story.

The Dragonfly

Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads,
there lived a little water beetle in a community of water
beetles. They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond
with few disturbances and interruptions.

Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of
their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and
would never be seen again. They knew when this happened; their
friend was dead, gone forever.

Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge
to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would
not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what
he had found at the top.

When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the
surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so
warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body
changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful
blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body
designed for flying.

So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole
new world and a far superior way of life to what he had never
known existed.

Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking
by now he was dead. He wanted to go back to tell them, and
explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been
before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended.

But, his new body would not go down into the water. He could
not get back to tell his friends the good news. Then he
understood that their time would come, when they, too, would
know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off
into his joyous new life!

When Little Leon got home from Sing and Sign on Monday, threre was a very special parcel waiting for him from his Swindon Knitting Nana!

Little Leons Mummy wishes she had one to keep her warm and cosy.

Its nearly Litle Leons birthday and Mummy is planning his party and naming ceremony, There will balloons, cake, presents and some fund raising for the CHSF for christmas presents for Ward 10 for little heart children in hospital when santa visits.

Little Leon has started with a cold, little heart babies sometimes dont have a strong imune systems and catch lots of bugs that are going around, Mummy and Daddy are giving him lots of warm drinks and food when he wants it.  He is getting lots of sleepy and he is rewarding them with smiles and clapping.  Daddy says throw him a fish because he looks like a cute little seal when he does that!!!

So, Little Leon is tucked up in bed, Mummy is having a cuppa and waiting for Daddy to come home and cook them both a nice tea :)
