Once upon a time, not so very long ago........

Little Leon was born with a poorly heart. This made his Mummy and Daddy sad and they decided to search for a special friend who would keep Little Leon company and look after him while he was in hospital.............

Donate..... it won't cost you a penny

Serious post time folks..

As most of you are aware we have had it rough at times with Leons condition, but fortunately we, and more importantly Leon, is still with us. Sadly this is not always the outcome. and we have had to watch helplessly as some others have slipped away. At this most difficult of times some families take the decision to allow organs to be donated so that many others may be helped and possibly even given the gift of life.

We have also witnessed the heart wrenching strory of a little boy waiting for a heart transplant. For any parent to have to sit and watch their child slowly fade away and be placed on the transplant list (there's no guarantees in this) spend 8 months or even more in hospital miles from home, separated from your family, waiting for "that" call, all the time your child getting weaker and weaker.  Fortunately, thanks to the kindness and courage of another family they received the call and their little one received the gift of a heart, so at least now they have a chance of life.

Demand sadly outstrips supply, but we can all do our bit, it's a no brainer to me, but everyone can make their own decision. But please, think how you would feel in that position, and ask yourself if you would be prepared to receive an organ if needed.  then ask yourself if you could be the one that possibly could be the one to provide that organ.
Leave a real legacy when you're gone. Leave the gift of life.

Playtime, picnics and photo's

Ahh Summer is here!

Summer  has finally arrived and with it the opportunity to get out in the parks and have some picnic and playtime. Whilst out and about i took the opportunity to put the new camera to work and managed to get some lovely shots of Leon, this one being my favourite. To me it says a lot, the pondering and musing of a childs mind, years older than it should be, reflecting on the past and what might have been. It's probably just Leon going phew, it's hard work running up and down that hill. i'll just have a rest!

Leon has decided he likes picnics, especially when they involve sausages and chocolate cake and, of course, Ice Cream.
He gets his own little plate and goes and sits down with his picnic and the Moo's and sorts himself out. It's so cute to watch, but obviously i'm biased.   Leon suffers, like most Heart Kids do, in the heat and usually after half an hour or so of playtime he needs a power nap, unfortunately his brain doesn't agree with his body and we usually have to "force" him to stop or slow down, at the moment bribing him with an Ice cream is working, so it's not too bad really

Leons' Godmother the lovely Jess was up in York visiting mummy Heslop so we all took the opportunity to visit

Leon couldn't wait for tickle time with Auntie Jess! Mummy Heslop did a lovely picnic and great fun was had with bubbles in the garden, Mummy Heslop Joined in as well!

We then went to the lovely Joseph Rowntree park for some more playtime, although I think the grown ups were having a little bit too much fun!

So Little Leon has decided he likes summer, even if he struggles in the heat, but Chocolate cake and ice cream make up for any struggles.

So Remember....
